She is survived by her husband, Earl her son, Ray (Ashley) McDuffie father, Frank Jones (Loretta) sister, Diane (Barry) Hemingway three grandchildren, Isaiah, David, and Leah and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Gail was preceded in death by her mother, Octavia Joyce Jarrott. Church where Gail served in the Health Ministry and Pastor’s Aid Ministry. After moving to Sumter, she and Earl became active members of the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Throughout her life, Gail was very active in the church serving as an usher and choir member. In 2015, they moved back to South Carolina, settling in Sumter, to be closer to family. During her time with Earl, she moved to multiple states and worked numerous jobs the most enjoyable and satisfying being as a cafeteria worker with the Alabama Public School System. As a military spouse, she served alongside her husband and upon his retirement, she was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the President of the United States. She married her husband, Earl, the love of her life on December 23rd, 1995. Gail was raised in Marion County and attended the public school system of Mullins. She departed this life on Novemin Sumter, South Carolina. Sandra LeGayle McDuffie, known as “Gail” to all who knew her, was born on June 9, 1964, to the late Octavia Owens Jarrott and Frank Jones in Mullins, South Carolina.
